High Tech Messaging Protect US Port Workers
February 15--Charleston, SC
Pound of Cure launches its latest partnership with the Port of Charleston's International Longshoremen's Association and The Marlin Company. Beginning March 1, 2008 port workers will begin viewing health and safety messages from an Electronic Communication Station. "This will hopefully be one of many such stations in all US Ports that will provide a link within and between ports", Audrey Whetsell, COO of Pound of Cure. These electronic bulletin boards are the latest in communications tools aimed at engaging employees primarily because of their visual appeal. Linking health and safety messages with a new form of technology wlll provide added security for port workers and those communities that surround it. The Port of Charleston is the nation's fourth busiest port, handling more than $3 million in cargo every hour.
